Jay Gray
Co-Founder of sago house & kes-sho glassware. Designer of low tide, ssal, underdog inn & more…
Jay Gray started his career in the bar industry at Brass Monkey Nottingham, and Tristan Stevenson’s Worship Street Whistling Shop in London. As Gray advances through his international tenure around the world, fronting prestigious addresses such as Baxter Inn and The Lobo, he eventually relocated to Singapore as Monkey Shoulder’s brand ambassador. In 2019, Gray partnered with hospitality veterans Desiree Jane Silva and Abhishek C George to open Sago House, which shot to stardom in 2023, as the venue clinched the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award and placed 10th at the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2023 and a coveted 32nd at World’s 50 Best Bars on the same year. During his tenure as CEO of Sago House Group, Gray was proactive in conceptualizing new restaurants and bars, as well as overseeing creative direction, branding, team development and operations for the venues, facilitating growth of the venues over the years. His full command in operations and influence in the hospitality industry has always earned him personal accreditation outside of his bars as Gray has been named honouree for Tatler’s Generation-T, Prestige 40 Under 40, August Men of the Year as well as the Brand Ambassador of the year at the Singapore Bar Awards.
